This can be read as any pairing (canon or fanon) within the NCIS: Los Angeles fandom . . . actually any pairing in any fandom. I hope that you enjoy my newest writing style experiment; please let me know what you thought of it.
Certainty
Neither are certain when it became a routine; dinner, drinks, and dessert.
But, she is certain of two things; that she loves him and that he will leave her.
And, he is certain of two things; that he loves her and that he will hurt her.
Each morning he'd claim that he only wanted one more night, that a relationship between them would never work.
And, each night for the rest of their lives, she granted him that one more night.
Years and years go by before their cautious love story ends.
And, eventually they are both right.
He leaves her.
And, he hurts her.
But, soon after he hurts her by leaving, she leaves his memory behind to join him in the afterlife.
And, there is no more pain.
If there is one thing that their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild are certain of it is that the Patriarch and Matriarch of their family shared a love that knew no bounds.
The two just hadn't been certain whether they would love the other together or individually.
But, the two were always certain that their love was strong enough to weather any storm; including the storm of change and uncertainty.
Thank you for reading. :)
UPDATED: Out of curiosity that was sparked by shestarsky's review; which pairing did you see when you read this? Remember, that there is no 'right' or 'wrong' answer. I'm just interested in all of the different scenarios that y'all could see.
