'I dug you up this morning and took you home.

To have you here beside me, cold but close.

I made my mind up last night that heaven just can't have you'

Standing in the dark graveyard, my hands were covered in dirt. My pale skin covered by silt and rock. I looked down the hole I dug and saw your coffin; you're resting place, where I should be with you.

Lifting your limp body out of your grave, I carried you home. I wanted to see your smiling face again, to see the lights in your eyes. To feel your breath on my cheek, and the warmth of your body. They took you from me, and now I'll take you back.

'I made you breakfast, but you would not eat, so I took your black dress off and washed you clean.

I made my mind up last night that heaven just can't have you.'

When we got home, I cooked your favourite, but you just sat where I put you. You didn't blink, didn't move a muscle, it was almost like before. We would sit in the kitchen and eat our pancakes together, every Sunday morning. We would just sit and chat, talk about random nothing, but we did it, and it was nice.

Now we're not, 'cuz you're not eating. Your pancakes are getting cold, the ice-cream melting into the syrup. I can see you won't be eating; it pains me to think our tradition gone; no one to carry it on. I look into your dull eyes again and see, they overdone your makeup. My Ginny does not need makeup, she's perfect. I pick you up again and strip you down, revealing what's under that black dress you're wearing.

I see burn marks all over your chest, deep gashing scars on your flawless skin. What did they do to you my beautiful? Grabbing a washer, I wash you down, I clean off the impurities, but I can't take away the scars. Not only did they take you from me, they marked you in death.

'The sheets are creased from you last day a silhouette of where you laid.

They'll your headstone in the yard with your black dress and my guitar.

I'll carry you back to your grave, where you and I will always stay.

I close the casket, it gets dark, they'll find us in each others arms.'

I see our bed, your side untouched. Your imprint lies there still, your makeup on the pillow. I can't stand it anymore; I need to be with you forever. They took you from me once before, but never again. I pick your damp, unclothed body off your chair and take you back. I take you back to your grave, but you will never be alone again. I will go with you, to be at your side forever.

Lying beside you, I hug you close and shut the lid. The darkness surrounds us, and I feel my breathing grow shallow. My eyelids close, and I fall in, I see you waiting, in your black dress. Your fiery-hair flowing around your face, your hand outstretched for me. I take your hand, you pull me close. They can't take you from me now.
