Harry stared at the Order of Merlin as if it was another one of Voldemorts Horcruxes. Shaking his head, he looked up at the crowd of people gathered in what remained of The Great Hall after the Battle of Hogwarts, before finally looking at the Minister of Magic. "I can't except this Sir." He said, as he handed the Medal back to the Minister.

Kingsley Shackbolt's smile faded at Harry's Words. "Mister Potter, you deserve it. You are a hero to The Wizarding world. You saved us all from the Evil of Voldemort, you fought valiantly and bravely; a true Gryffindor if I do say so myself."

Harry snorted. They didn't get it, did they? "It wasn't bravery that helped me defeat Voldemort in the end, it was love." Harry glanced back to the gathered crowd before continuing. "It was my Mother's love that saved me that Halloween night and her love that saved me again in my First year. It was Mrs. Malfoy's love for her son, Draco, that lead her to lie to Voldemort." Harry stopped, searching the crowd once more, his next words directed at a single person. "It was true undying love, that saved us in the end.

Harry walked down the few steps that usually held the Head Table, and continued down the Hall, the people he passed looking on in confusion. When he reached the back row, Harry held out his hand, the Order of Merlin resting in his open palm. "I believe this is yours. Your Sacrifice, your Bravery and most of all your undying love for my mother has made you the real hero, Sir."

Obsidian eyes met emerald for a brief moment, before lowering to the glint of gold in the outstretched hand. Potion stained fingers reached out hesitantly, hovering, before closing around the cold metal. "Thank you." It was said in barley a whisper, a whisper that was drowned out by the thunder of applause, but Harry heard it.
