The Day of the Devil
Intro
An unyielding figure lays locked in chains in a fortress made of pure power and light.
"This was always going to happen brother"
"I have done nothing wrong!"
"You have angered Father for the last time, you tried to halt one of his arrangements, there is no way out of this"
"So be it then, let him do as he will, ultimately I know he will be merciful, he is my Father"
Lucifer had been watching Raphael with close magnification from his chains for the last day or so as he paced around him smirking like a spoilt child.
The room he was subdued in was nothing more than a blank black box, a box so large he swore its ceiling was moving further away from him every time his eyes glanced upon it.
Darkness filled the room like an ink drop in a glass of clear water, someone else had arrived.
"Who is that? Who is there?" Lucifer demanded.
"He is a witness, nothing more, a witness of your judgement brother" Raphael gleamed his deep brown eyes into his brothers.
A sense of dread and fear came over the room and its inhabitants as a commanding presence fell over them.
The room became bright like a glowing star, and warm like the sun.
The deep footsteps of an invisible giant could be heard approaching outside, and as the huge steel doors of the room burst open he could be felt approaching the chained child.
"Father, I have only ever loved you" The tears on Lucifer's cheeks burned as they trickled down his face.
Raphael began to say something but quickly stopped as if he had been grabbed by the throat by an invisible presence.
Lucifer heard his father's unspoken words deep within him and began to weep more than he had before as the room started to pound and shake.
"No! Please father, how can you choose them over your own children!" his eyes were now pouring with a mixture of water and fear.
The witness then came forward, a tall thin man with pale white skin and sunken dark eyes, his frail hands made their way to Lucifer's face.
"You have one day of freedom, and then, you will have an eternity of darkness and imprisonment" the figure started to walk away. He turned to look over his shoulders at Lucifer; he could see he was already suffering as much as he could be at this moment.
"Make it count" he suggested as his hands began to glow brighter and brighter.
The room was too bright to see anything or anybody and by this point Lucifer's skin had started to boil.
"Father please!" he shouted.
The screams of a burning angel could be heard escalating throughout Heaven and when the light dissipated and the ground was cool once again, Lucifer was gone.
Raphael walked out of the room and toward the grand steps outside, a huge amount of silver plated logs forming the way back down to the streets.
Another man, tall, blonde and mighty sat slumped upon the top step waiting for Raphael to approach from the doorway, a tear resting in the corner of his eye.
"Is it done?" he asked with a shake in his voice.
"Our brother is gone, banished, he has but one day of freedom" Raphael tried to hide his excitement behind a blunt smile.
Michael put his head in his hands and began to weep as Raphael continued down the steps.
"Where did they send him?" Michael asked Raphael as he watched his descent down the steps.
Raphael did not turn to look back to look at Michael but whispered just one word; Earth.
