A Song Written for You
Alvin has feelings for Simon, but he just cant put it into spoken words.
A somber look wrote all over his face. A frustrated groan left his body as Alvin threw the pencil to the table. He tried to write the words that left his mind but it didn't translate magically onto the paper like he hoped.
He tried listenining to love songs. He tried watching those crappy romance movies that Simon tried to get him to watch at one point.
He had the feelings, he had the words, but the song never came.
As Alvin wrote the last few words of the chorus, he erased the name "Simon," so it wouldn't be obvious, and put the pencil down. It was time for a break.
He jumped down from the table, walked past Simon and Dave and stepped outside for some fresh air.
He began to hum a tune that was stuck in his head ever since he decided to write the song for Simon.
Wait. Did he forget to erase the last paragraph?!
Simon pondered reading the note on the table. He looked back to it and over to Dave who was cooking the boys dinner. "…Curiosity killed the cat," he murmured and climbed the desk to peek at the paper on the desk.
"Oh, Alvin's been writing songs again! That must be why he's in such a bad…mood.." he read the last paragraph.
"You are my starlight, shine on my heart
When I'm with you, it feels like I'm dreaming all day
You are my starlight, I get so happy
Your love is like a gift,"
…Holy crap. Alvin is writing a love song. Alvin. His brother. Wrote a love song?! This HAD to be for Brittany, he thought.
He read on.
"Meaningless, everyday things
Are now like new as if I've seen the world for the first time
I'm surprised every day
You've changed me
You drew a new me onto my empty face"
A blush broke on his face as he slammed the poem down on the desk.
"Everything okay Simon?" Dave asked as he looked over. "I'm fine! I just…I just have to see Alvin," He grabbed the note and crumpled it in his hands and looked for his brother upstairs.
"Alvin?" He asked as he opened the door to their shared bedroom.
"Simon?" Theodore asked as he looked up from the bed he was lying in. "What's the matter?" He asked.
"N-Nothing. Have you seen Alvin?" Simon asked as he fixed his glasses.
"He's outside, I can hear him from here. What's wrong?" Theodore asked, getting up from the bed.
Nearly asleep under a tree, Alvin relaxed with his arms across his head and his leg draped over the other one, casually singing random words that came to his mind.
Simon stopped dead in front of him and Alvin cracked an eye open.
"….Yes?" He asked. "May I help you?" Simon only threw the crumpled up paper in his face.
"….You're an idiot." Simon said with a blush as he adjusted his glasses.
