The Beach
The crash of the waves against a shore
With sparkling clear blue water.
The early morning birds cawing overhead
And the fresh smell of the salty ocean spray.
The warm yellow sand underfoot
Squishing between your toes as you walk.
You walk to close to the shore
And the sand instantly turns to butter under your feet.
The dolphins gliding through the water
Laughing along the way.
You close your eyes
Listening to the gentle rise and fall of the waves.
The breeze lifting you up
Higher and higher.
The birds circling around you
Singing their lovely tune.
Now your journey comes to an end
As you float back down to the ground.
You leave the beach that day happily
Knowing you shall return again soon.
