Warning: I do not own Twilight in any way, shape, or form. However, the plot and character Ariana are of my creation.

Alone, hurt, terrified. Alone, hurt, terrified. This pounded over and over inside Ari's head. She shuddered and pulled in closer to the foot of the tree at which she lay.

She was damaged, and she knew it. That, monster, had taken everything that was her's. Her strength. Her will. Her self. He had taken it all. He had ripped away every bit of trust, every strand of self confidence, and every single bit of her heart and had left her empty, cold, and alone.

Ari had thought that Da—, she couldn't even bring herself to think his name. At the very thought of his name she had began retching and choking. He wasn't even a him. She thought furiously, It was a monster. A thing. If it was a monster than it was ok if she had been tricked by it. Monsters were cunning and evil. Somehow, this rationalized itself in her exhausted brain and she was able to fall into sleep.

But sleep was not peaceful. Images kept coming up, turning sleep into a nightmare. The furry behind his gaze. The creeping slow smile that had scared her more than anything. The feeling of danger and helplessness that she had felt as he invaded her. The feeling of him beating and breaking her until the sweet blackness had enveloped her. But most of all, what she had heard him say as she was on the brink of consciousness, "That was easier than I thought it would be..." Followed by a sickening laugh.

She awoke screaming and sobbing, scrabbling in the mud and rain that had begun to fall. She curled up tight against the cold, ignoring the stabbing pain from her broken ribs. This pain she could handle, it was the memories that overwhelmed and haunted her.

Slowly, she began to focus in on her surroundings. She didn't know where she was. She did know that she had woken up in a strange, unfamiliar place and had not seen anyone around. Scrabbling and ignoring pain she had fled into the woods, away from that cursed shack. Running faster and faster she had gotten deeper and deeper into the forest. Eventually Ari had collapsed and recognized that the only thing surrounding her was the forest and forest noises, leaving her where she was now.

Alone, hurt, terrified. It beat. Alone, hurt, terrified.
