The Mad Man with a box

All his secrets locked inside

His face a young man's

His eyes old and wise

They've seen happiness

Anger and war

He's fought stuff of legends

But what's he fighting for?

All those that he loves

All those that he saved

They vanish eventually

Leaving shadows in their place

He remembers everyone

Though he tries to forget

That those closest to him

Are the farthest ones yet

And they wish he would visit

They wish he'd come back in his box so blue

But sometimes, they've forgotten who he is

Sometimes, they think, "Doctor Who?"

And the Sad Man with a box

Never with the same face

Always running through time

Never in the same place

Sometimes he wonders

What could've been

If only, if only

He'd settled in

And though he misses them dearly

He never regrets

Though he loved Rose and others

He loves running too, I'll bet.
