Oneshot based on the song by Three Days Grace.

Pairing: Luke/Reid, mentions of Luke/Noah

Rating: T for swearing :P

-Luke keeps bringing up someone from his past. Reid eventually snaps.-

Disclaimer- None of the characters are mine. But if they were, I would be very happy :) and would definitely make LuRe endgame.

Every time he brings up that damn name, he dies a little inside...

He can see that Luke is leaving him. Emotionally, and it will eventually be physically...

Still he clings to him, refusing to let go- because Luke's the first person his life he's allowed himself to get really close to and he doesn't want that to end.

He hates him.

He hates him.

So why does he love him?

First, he brushes off the small comments with sarcastic comments or simply changes the subject.

Then they get all the more frequent.

It's 'Noah this...' and 'Noah that' and 'Hey isn't it so fucking obvious that i'm still in love with my ex-boyfriend?'

God damn him.

Reid eventually snaps.

They're sitting at dinner when it happens. Luke has just come back from some big corporate meeting when he brings up Noah again .

'I ran into Noah on the way home,' Luke began, taking a large spoonful of mashed potato from the bowl in the centre, and completely oblivious to Reid's discomfort at another mention of Noah's name. 'He seems to be doing pretty well in LA, he's visiting for the moment, so we arranged to go out for coffee tomorrow- that's okay right?'

Luke glances up at his boyfriend then and notices his clenched fists.

'Reid?'

Luke reaches over to grab his hand, but Reid snaps it back quickly and stands up, shoving his chair from behind him so forcefully that it flies into the wall behind.

'No it's not okay,' Reid murmurs, fists shaking. 'It's not okay at all...'

'What the hell's your problem?'

'My problem?' Reid snaps angrily. 'My problem is that my current boyfriend keeps bringing up his ex boyfriend every fucking chance he gets!'

Luke's face darkens. 'I thought we'd been over this...'

'We'd been over the fact that you were going to mention him and show him concern every now and again,' Reid slams his left hand onto the table. 'What we hadn't been over is the fact that he is now the main topic of every conversation we ever have!'

Reid sighs and rubs his hand wearily across his eyes.

'What are we even doing Luke?' He says, softer now.

'You're right. This argument is stupid- let's just talk about something-'

Reid interrupts him. 'No, I mean...what are we even doing in this relationship, when it's so clear that one of us wants to be somewhere else?'

Luke stops, he just stops, and stares at Reid.

'You're right,' he says after a moment's silence. 'What am I doing in a relationship with someone who doesn't even trust me enough to know that I would be somewhere else right now if I didn't 100% want to be with him?'

He stands up and crosses the room in three strides, heading towards the door.

'I'm staying at Casey's tonight,' he calls over his shoulder. 'Why don't you call me, when you grow up?'

After the door bangs, Reid sits in silence for what seems like forever. He puts his head in his hands.

Oh, fuck...
