I sighed as I walked in my front door, setting my handgun down on the heavily scratched and scarred table. I shut the open door and proceded to lock the 3 dead bolts and 2 chains that I had attached a year ago. Life had been hard ever since the virus had rampaged across the world , and I didn't plan on making it harder by letting flesh eating zombies into my house. I went to the back door and made sure that it was secure as well. Finally satisfied that I wasn't going to be eaten, I emptied my bag onto the table and smiled slightly at my payload.

About 6 cans of soup, 3 can of veggies, a loaf of bread as well as some ramen noodles. That should be enough to get me by for a while. I put the fod away and peered out my living room window at the baren wasteland that had once been Buffalo, NY. Since the virus broke out, pretty much al the water dried up, leaving nothing behind but desert. Thank god I had a fan hooked up to a car battery…otherwise I would be baking right now in the heat...

I sat down in a recliner and flipped open my laptop . i was a computer hacker, and a year back I had come across some strange network run by some company named Umbrella . It caught my interest, so I spent about 2 weeks hacking into their network. When I finally did, I was stunned. When I finished reading through the documents, I wished I hadn't.

Not only was Umbrella responsible for th viral outbreak…they had wiped out an entire city to cover it up! Racoon City had been destroyed to stop the virus from spreading… however, it had the wolrd was a barren wastleland, and zombies were What was this Project Alice that the reports kept going on about?

Whatever, the documents all pointed to undergroud Umbrella research facilities…nice and locked away from the outside world of zombies and death. Briefly wondered if someone were to get into tese labs, maybe a cure could be made…. I scoffed at the idea and went back to Umbrella's server, hoping to learn more about what they planned on doing.

A few hours later my motion sensors began going off causing me to fall off the couch I had been sleeping , I crawled to one of the windows and though the dark night I could see a helicopter landing in the street. Wondering who the hell it could be I grabbe dmy night vission goggles and stared at the chopper. My jaw dropped when I saw the red and white Umbrella logo on the side. Men clad in black poured out of the Helicopter, all of them hefting Sub- machine guns and assault rifles. I swore quietly, cursing my stupidity for alowing Umbrella to trace my internet signal.

I quickly shoved my laptop into my back and grabe dmy handgun, as well as the three clips for it. I glanced out the window again to see the soldiers running towards the house, all the while watching around them, watching for the undead.I scrambed for the backdoor as the Umbrella soldiers began kicking the front door in. As I bolted out the backdoor, I heard a loud crash of the front door being broken. I peered around the edge of the house. I heard the soldiers in the house talking to each other as they riffled through my stuff.

"Where is he?The signal originated from this house. Look ! The backdoor is open! He must have left the house!" One of the men shouted. My heart raced as I heard heavy boots thudding though the house. Praying there were no men out front, I bolted for the street. I ran for the chopper and his behind it. I took slow deep breaths trying to catch my breat

H when I heard a low groaning. I looked up from the ground to see a zombie lumbering towards me. I trembled as weighed my optons. If I fired my gun and killed the zombie, the Umbrella troops would know where I was. I sighed, the pulled the trigger.
