Pain.

That's all she felt and it hurt everywhere.

She called out for her dad, her mom, or for just anyone but no one came.

Madge doesn't remember when the dreams started. It might of been the night she first saw him.

She was going to the bakery with her housekeeper when she saw him. He was sitting against a wall in the alley across the street. As the housekeeper entered the bakery, Madge ran over to the boy. At first she wasn't sure what to so she stood there and after awhile he looked up at the small eleven year old girl. He looked back down and pulled his knee closer to his chest. She sat down next to him.

"Are you okay?" She asked carefully looking at him. He shook his head and she thought she could hear him crying. She patted his back and he put rested his head on her shoulder.

"Madge? Madge!" She heard her housekeeper calling. She kissed the boy on the head and stood up.

"I'm Madge," She paused looking over at her housekeeper. "It'll be okay. I promise." She whispered before she walked over to her housekeeper.

It was raining again.

Thump Thump. Footsteps come close but then quickly leave again.

I'm going to die.

"I'm sorry!" She said quickly. "I wasn't pay attention to where I was.. I..." Madge stop mid sentence looking up at the person she ran into.

"Madge," His mouth went dry. They both haven't seen each other in years. She's no longer the eleven year old he remembers.

"Gale, come on. Why are you talking to her." A boy called out to Gale. Madge looked down and she was sure her saw the tears in her eyes.

"I wasn't talking to her. Why would I talk to the mayor's daughter?" Gale said hatefully making sure he saw her face. Madge walked the other way and Gale watched her walk away. They would never be friends. They came from different worlds. She was rich and he was poor. At the end of the day it came down to money.

"Madge please! Open your eyes. Please!" She heard yelling and it hurt her ears. Everything hurt. "I'm sorry please!" Blue met with gray. He couldn't help himself when kissed her. He's loved her since she found him in the alley. He ignore the gasps from the crowd. He loved her and he didn't care anymore. He pulled away from her and looked back into her eyes.

"Gale?" She croaked as she reached a hand up. He grabbed her hand gently and brought it to his lips. He kissed her palm and she smiled weakly.

"I thought you were gone." He whispered quietly looking down at the ground.

"It'll be okay. I promise." She whispered before she smiled again.
