BAM BAM BAM
Tears of anger and despair were streaming down his face as Hikaru threw his heavy go board into the ground again and again, making a series of deep imprints on the polished wooden floor. Then, when his arms were too tired to lift the heavy go board into the air again, he placed two well-aimed kicks at the bowls containing the go pieces, sending a two streams of black and white stones into the air. The stones scattered around the room, hitting the floor with hundreds of little clicks as if they were crying along with Hikaru. Done taking his anger out on the go board and the pieces, Hikaru directed his anger towards the pile of old issues of go magazines sitting in the corner. With a vengeance, Hikaru tore the magazines apart by the fistful. When the magazines were all reduced to little bits of colorful paper, Hikaru aimed a hard kick at the overturned go board. Unfortunately, his unprotected feet was no match for the solid wooden board. The nail of his big toe broke off from the toe and Hikaru had to bite off a scream of pain. Then, his anger spent, Hikaru was left with only despair. He slowly sank to the floor, using the bed to prop up his back. He sat there for a long time, hugging his knees to his chest, his silent tears dropping onto the floor and mixing with the blood running freely from his big toe. The loud thunder and heavily pouring rain tapping outside Hikaru's window didn't seem to be bothering him at all as he stared into, lost in his memories.
"Hikaru, are you all right? I thought I heard loud noises up here in your room," Hikaru's mother asked as she entered the room. She gasped with fright as she took in the scene present before her. "Hikaru! What happened? Why are your go stuff scattered all over your room? Are---"
"Shut up and leave me alone!" Hikaru roared as he jumped up from the foot of the bed and ran past his shocked mother, down the stairs, out of the house, and into the rain outside.
"Hikaru, wait! Hikaru! Come back!" his mother shouted in vain behind him. He ran into the wind, letting the rain blow into his face and washing away his tears. He rain aimlessly, down one street and up another. Actually, Hikaru didn't care where he was running to, as long he was running away from here, from a place without Sai.
Sai was more than a mentor to Hikaru. He was also Hikaru's friend, Hikaru's cheat notes to history, and, most importantly of all, Hikaru's lover. Though it had begun with an unwilling compromise at first, Hikaru's relationship with Sai quickly escalated and became much more in the short time that Sai was with Hikaru.
'But the baca left me. He was there and then all of a sudden, he vanished into thin air. He left me! I thought he would stay with me forever, but he left!'
Hikaru's thoughts were in a tangle. He can't live without Sai. His life is meaningless without Sai there to care for him and love him, soothing him with a gentle voice when he was scared or smile that reassuring smile at him when he was upset.
Blinded by the rain, Hikaru tripped over a stone in the road and fell face forward into a mud puddle. He made no move to get up as he just laid there, bawling loudly now, unafraid that anyone is going to hear over the ruckus of the rain. He cried and cried until he can cry no more. It was then that he slowly got back up. He raised his face towards the heavens and shouted, "Why? Why must you leave me, Sai? WHY?"
His scream was covered by the loud howling of the wind.
