I Love You

Ozai was on his second bottle of vodka, but closer to his third. He could drink all he wanted now with no one here to tell him when to quit. He was alone.

Years ago, she picked up everything and left him with the kids. He could remember everything he ever did to hurt her. The way he hurt her and the last memories of her.

Every Mislead

"I'm at the office," Ozai said into the phone.

His wife was at home with their children, "When are you coming home?"

Ozai wasn't lying— he was at his office . . . and the cute girl who he hired to work the building's front desk was sitting half naked in his office chair, "Soon."

Ursa sounded tired. "Okay. I Love you."

"You too."

Every Lie

Ursa looked angry and he couldn't blame her, "Who is she?"

Ozai had gotten sloppy. He never kept pictures on his cell phone. He always deleted them after he looked at them. It was better to see things in person. A picture never gripped him tightly or called out his name, pictures reminded him of his wife, "Just a woman."

Ursa was crying now, "Who is she?"

Ozai slammed his hands on the table. "No one. Leave it alone."

Every Truth

Ozai couldn't even look at his wife— she looked terrible. Black tears stained her face and her hair was sticking to her face, "Yes."

Ursa shook her head and sobbed, "Please, tell me your lying."

Ozai knew he was wrong, but she wanted the truth and he was giving it to her. "She slept here when you went to visit your mother."

Ursa stormed out.

Ozai didn't follow.

The Last Memory

"Where are you going?"

Ursa turned to him and sighed, "I'm leaving."

Ozai knew she was lying; she couldn't leave him. To prove just that, he asked, "What about the kids?"

Ursa pushed past him, her voice clipped. "With my mother."

Ozai snarled, "Why?"

"I told you. I can't be with you anymore."

The Last Words

"Ursa. I love you."

"I loved you too, Ozai."
