I loved my life. I really did. But it wasn't enough.

My name is Ciel. French for sky, or heaven. Funnily enough, that's where all the trouble began. It was a little while before my 16th birthday.

I was born in England and I grew up in the city where I was born. My life was fairly ordinary. I went to primary school, had friends, a best friend. I was a happy child. When the time came to move on, I went to secondary school. It was tougher, more people, less friendliness. More exams and homework. My old friends went to different schools, I made new friends. After three years, I moved again. I made more friends. I never felt entirely comfortable with anyone, I realise that now. My secrets were confined to a diary, not whispered to friends. I invented stories, created worlds of my own, instead of interacting with the real world. Of course, I believed in magic. I think all children do at some point. But I believed it well into my teens. You see, I knew a girl. Not a friend, just a vague acquaintance. I don't even remember her name. But when we had all moved on to new schools, she hadn't gone with anyone else. She went to a boarding school, and we rarely saw her. She told me one day what they taught there. And since that day, I'd never felt that I fitted in. I knew where I should be. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Still, my life wasn't bad. I couldn't complain. I was too old to go to Hogwarts now. I had missed my chance. I always used to love the night sky. One night, I was staring up at the stars, just dreaming. But then I made a wish. I don't know if you know the rhyme: "Star light, star bright, First star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight."

"My life's not bad, but it's not right. Turn back time. Let me go to Hogwarts."

Little did I know that an aimless wish would come true.
