Black.

Covered in black, the long and painful ceremony continued in a slow pace, much to her annoyance. Low murmurs swarmed the place accompanied by the melancholic music from the band. It was like a sarcastic remark for her. No one ever thought this day would come in the huge manor of the Sakuras. The once lively home was now draped with black and white.

She stared at the rectangular object on the altar where her father rested. Her one-time relatives and neighbors, who came all over the country, flooded the seats and offered her condolences. She hadn't met most of them, but to her dread, they asked about the will. She didn't care though. Everything that happened was a blur that she didn't much comprehend anything. All she knew was that today was her father's burial. She was now alone with no one but herself.

"Mikan-sama," a voice pulled her out of her reverie. When she looked up, the friendly face of her messenger smiled apologetically. "Here, madam. It's addressed to you," he said as he bowed and made his way out of the room.

She eyed the small plain white envelope on her hand. On top was her name written on it with black ragged ink. Clearly, it wasn't from a post office. She chose to open it discreetly, away from prying eyes around her.

"Your father is alive," were the words written together with a contact number. She grasped the letter tightly as she looked at the coffin. "Is this some kind of a joke?" she hissed.

Anger began to rise in her when a picture fell from the envelope. Curious, she picked it up and turned it around. Blood drained from her face. "Then-" she began. Her hands trembled while her mind rambled with questions. "Who's in the coffin?" she asked nervously.
