If there was one thing Jack was bad at, it was pretending to be interested when Daniel and Sam discussed ancient histories and complex astronomical theories and unintelligible mathematical equations and stupid smart people things at the bar. And here they were, yet again. At the bar. Discussing science.

Jack sighed and looked at Teal'c, expecting some sort of look to let him know he wasn't the only one bored out of his damned mind. Teal'c attention was raptly focused on the television above the bar that was broadcasting a Terminator movie. Jack glanced at the television. Yep, definitely Terminator 2. The thing is Teal'c probably thought the movie was real.

He swirled his Sam Adams, revolving it on bottom of the bottle slowly and methodically, only picking up pieces of his two teammates conversation.

"-but if the Universe keeps expanding as rapidly as it is, Universes are just going to get further and further apart. Even where we have visited through our.." Sam paused, remembering they weren't in the SGC and it was definitely not okay to mention the use of a Stargate to travel to other planets, let alone let it's existence be known to the many people in the bar, "project, they will-"

"Doc! Finally!" Jack exclaimed, slapping his palms on the bar and standing up to great the petite doctor.

"Never before have you been excited to see me!" She teased, swatting his upper arm playfully and taking the empty seat next time Jack at the bar.

"Hey, Janet," Daniel said before returning his complete attention back to what Sam was saying. Sam made eye contact with her best friend and smiled but went directly back into her conversation with Daniel. Janet gave Jack a look that basically said 'See how my friends treat me?'.

"Greetings, Dr. Fraiser," Teal'c said with a tip of his head.

"Same to you, Teal'c," She said and smiled broadly when she took in his appearance, "and nice hat, by the way." Jack snorted, covering his mouth to disguise it into a cough.

"Thank you. Daniel Jackson told me it was a customary head attire to adorn in this region of your planet." He sipped the smallest sip Janet had ever seen anyone take of a beer that Jack most likely ordered for him and returned his attention to the tv. Come to think of it, she had never seen him drinking anything other than water before. The more you know.

She removed her light jacket and slipped it around the back of her bar stool. With a slight nod in the Jaffa's direction, she whispered "A cowboy hat. Really?"

Jack smirked, "The worst part is I don't even think Daniel was joking when he told him to wear it."

Janet laughed lightly and raised her hand, signaling the bartender. Jack finished off his beer and slung his arm around his girlfriend's shoulders. "Glad you could come. I missed you." She smiled and ordered a Corona. He indicated to the bartender to add it to his tab and removed the cap for her. He knew it hurt her hands open the bottles herself, but she didn't like to ask people to help her. Something he learned after three years of being in a relationship with her.

She rested her hand on the nape of his neck and took a long swig of her beer, her nails dragging lightly against his tanned skin. "And this, honey, is why I love you."
