The Elric brothers looked around themselves in dismay at the busy train station.
"Excuse me" a rather random man in a greenish brown trench coast said to Alphonse, "You wouldn't be the Fullmetal Alchemist would you?"
Immediately Ed jumped up and yelled, "Oh sure! The little guy could never be a state alchemist! I see how you cheap joke works!"
"Uh," Al thought quickly, "So why do want to know?"
The man handed a letter to Ed who read over it quickly and looked back up to try and ask the man a question but he was gone, "Damn, looks like we'll have to change trains."
"Huh? But why?" Al asked.
"New state alchemist admission," Ed breathed hailing the conductor, "Excuse me but when does the next train leave for central?"
The conductor looked at his watch and answered, "Gate 5A in an hour."
"I don't get it," Al said, "Are all of the alchemists going?"
"I don't know Al."
"Ask them," the conductor said a few feet away pointing to the brothers, "I don't have time for this."
The two brothers stared at the pair of girls who had asked the question. One with dark hair and glasses, the other had short blonde hair that covered her right eye and was wearing all black. The latter scared Al a little.
"RUDE!" the blonde yelled after the conductor, "He was rude wasn't he? He was very rude. How dare he be so rude?"
"YES!" the brunette said aggravated, "HE WAS RUDE FAITH! Now can we just find out which train we're on?" She walked up to Ed and Al and they all just stood there for a moment, absorbing each other's appearances, "Well?"
"Well what?" Ed asked a little angry.
"When does the train leave?" The one with the glasses asked shortly.
"Oh, in about an hour," Ed responded.
The one called Faith was looking away, bored out of her mind. And now it looked like she would have to be bored for even longer. So she decided to try and make the best of it, "Hey, there's a bar just down the street, you guys want to come?"
"No, Faith," the other girl said through clenched teeth, she was blushing slightly, "What are you doing?"
"Sure," Ed replied, "We've got time to kill right Al?"
Al nodded, "Right."
"I'm Megan by the way, and that's Faith," Megan said as they walked away from the bar, being under aged hey had had gotten kicked out and were now walking to a café a little further away.
"I'm Alphonse," the walking suit of armor said.
"And I'm sure you know who I am!" Ed pointed to himself with pride.
Both girls stayed quiet. Faith because she was fuming about being kicked out of the bar (she had fake ID) and Megan because she didn't want to look stupid. Ed fell over anime style, "YOU MEAN YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF THE GREAT FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST!"
"Oh we've heard of him," Faith said opening the door to the café, "Every alchemist has."
"Why? Do you know him?" Megan asked.
"NO DAMN IT! I'M FULLMETAL! ME!"
There was a definite "shushing" from the crowd in the café.
"So you're alchemists?" Al asked trying to make polite conversation as they sat down at the table in a corner toward the back.
"Yes indeedy doody," Faith said smiling, a huge departure from the sarcastic personality she had so far been using.
Ed leaned over and said so only Megan could hear, "Is she sane?"
"Not at all."
