Harry looked up, not for the first time that night, and stared across the common room. There she was in the middle of a group of her friends, her laughter bouncing off the walls her red hair shining in the firelight. Ginny Weasly, his girlfriend. Lately though he hadn't felt the butterflies in his stomach every time they touched, lately she had been spending more time in the company of her years leaving Harry in the capable hands of Ron and Hermione.
As his brown haired best friend snuggled deeper into his chest where she had fallen asleep he had to smile. This would be the third night this week they had curled up together, their homework long discarded for more pressing matters, only to have Hermione fall asleep within the hour.
It didn't matter though watching her sleep these past few days had been nice, almost peaceful for him. The fact that one person, who was so closely tied to the war and other troubles of the world, could sleep so easily on a couch in the common room made everything he was doing seem worth it. As he looked form the sleeping form of Hermione to Ginny, and back he had to chuckle to himself.
He knew the inevitable breakup between him and Ginny was coming, and that it wouldn't be pretty, yet he couldn't help but to keep laughing. As his chuckles roused the sleepy Hermione form her place on his chest he looked back towards Ginny and sighed. "Oh well, watching her sleep had been nice."
A/N: Well, if you've made it this far it would mean a lot for me to have you take the extra minute to let me know what you thought. Good, bad or ugly I don't care as long as it's constructive. Thanks!
