Uotani Arisa does not believe in fairytales.
Fairytales are reserved for insufferable teenage girls with an overactive imagination, raging hormones and a princess-complex.
And she is certainly not one of them. She is hardly a damsel-in-distress. As a matter of fact, it may as well be the other way around; when she rescued the handsome prince who was attacked by a gang of sweets and junk food, and she had been the price-imprinter-wielding knight-ress in white and blue convenience store uniform.
She wonders vaguely if she will ever get to see him again.
Because like a knight enraptured by beauty, she can't seem to stop thinking about him… about his silky, auburn hair that dances with the wind; of silent but intense eyes, swirling in russet colors, which seem to hide an unfathomable mystery and sadness; and of a smile so utterly warm and charming, that literally takes her breath away. Can't stop thinking about him.
Right now, however, all she could do is carve a name—his name, on the sand and watch idly, as the salty seawater reach towards it, bringing itself closer as if to taste, for the briefest of moments… then move away abruptly, erasing its entirety forever.
She laughs quietly, sullenly, at this metaphor and looks at the item she holds in her hand. No, it's definitely not a glass slipper. A plastic button would hardly count as something precious.
Arisa smiles at this, nonetheless. She still does not believe in fairytales, and decides she never will.
Nevertheless—Uotani Arisa is, undeniably, a woman, ridiculously, in love.

AUTHOR'S
NOTES: Hn. I wrote this possessed by the vengeful spirit of… a
cockroach. Please don't strangle me. I'd appreciate the comments
though! The song insert doesn't have any connection -whatsoever-
with the fic, it nearly describes Kureno though, don't you
think?
Written for the 31days community at LJ, the theme for
June 25: "messages in the sand". This is but a fabrication of my
overactive imagination, the workings of a rather angsty muse, and
fault of a geeky best friend who explained to me how "Love
(inevitably) conquers all."
