Ok, let me just send a quick note.
To soldiers overseas-fighting for our freedom,
Thank you. You give so much every day, so much that I don't know how we can ever repay any of you. Just let me ask you one more favour-come back. You all have families, friends-they need you here.
And to my cousin Carey-please return safely. You have three beautiful boys who need their mum-who need you. I love you, and I'm so proud of you.
Thank you.

As the clock struck eleven o'clock, Ducky placed his tools down on the table, simply standing there. Jimmy, who was stood on the other side of the body, looked to his mentor-confused, but soon understood and joined him in the silence. Most people were at home-but NCIS didn't shut on federal holidays, it wasn't fair to the families of the victims, but Ducky and Jimmy were sure they could wait another two minutes.
Ducky's mind was occupied as the clock ticked on. He recalled his time in the army, he thought of the soldiers he helped, of those who he couldn't. He thought of Jethro, and how many men he must of lost while in the marines. He thought of all the marines they attempted to help and protect everyday, and how some would still be overseas. He thought of how they might have been fighting with British soldiers, and how some of them wouldn't go home. They would have families, friends, lives back home, lives that they could never return to. They sacrificed everything so that they themselves coils be free-and Ducky would always be grateful.
Jimmy, on the other hand, had never been to war. He hadn't come from a military family-his father was a well respected businessman and his mother was a classic stay-at-home mom. But one of hai best friends in elementary school came from a family where his father was often deployed. Their family was lucky if they saw him maybe three times a year. Until one day-that heart wrenching day when they were told he had been taken out by a sniper. He had left a widow and three young children. That was what Jimmy thought of for those two minutes-the families left behind. Those who would never see their loved ones again, who only had a memory to live on for the rest of their lives.
The clock passed two minutes passed ten, and Ducky and Jimmy once again picked up their tools and continued on, but ducky's mind was far from silent, he had seen too much, and heard to many tales for that to happen-especially then.
Even when hours from his home, Ducky was still haunted by those days.
For every soldier-past and present
Too many lost,
Not enough remembered
