Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters! I really wish I did, but
oh well. Maybe one day!
A/N: This story is Christian's epilogue of his novel.
"A love that will live forever. The end."
The story was done, but Christian still sat in his garret, feeling empty. There was something more he must do, something to truly keep the memory of Satine alive. So he decided to write once again, and put something at the very end of his book that would make it truly hers.
1 Epilogue
My Dearest,
I have finally fulfilled my promise. I wrote our story, and it is a story that was meant to be shared with the world. But while I know everyone will read this too, this is for you, my love, and you alone.
Darling, I have betrayed your memory. Directly after your death, I began a tumultuous affair with another. The Green Fairy has captivated my heart and soul for the past year, and I have not been able to truly grieve for you. By doing that, I have tarnished your memory. You were the epitome of vibrant life, and I am destroying our wonderful memories by wasting away in a drunken stupor.
Satine, it is time for me to move on with my life. I will never forget you, or stop loving you. I will also never love another the way I have loved you, I promise you that. But I do know that I can lead a productive life, and for you, I will do so. I know that you are waiting for me, somewhere, where all our journeys begin.
Until the end of time,
Christian
