Your name is Roxy Lalonde, and you are seeing the face of another human for the first time in your life.

This human happens to be Dirk Strider, your long-time (one of three) best friend(s) and definite love interest.

Why's he's here or how he got here in the first place, you have no clue.

But he's in nicely-ironed clothes and holding something behind his back, and you're ecstatic to see him

You tackle-hug him and you hear him make the slightest oof noise, then a chuckle.

So this is what another human's touch feels like.

He wouldn't know what it's like either, he's probably just as happy as you are.

"D-Dirky? H-how did you-" you begin.

"I didn't even know my hoverboard could take me that far, but it did." he snickers.

You detach yourself from him and show off your toothy grin.

You feel like crying. You're so happy.

You can feel tears swelling up in your eyes, and your vision gets blurry due to them.

Dirk shoves something in your hands.

"I got these for you."

You look down and there is a steel-scrap, home-made flower bouquet.

Your smile grows.

"Thanks, Dirky, they're so pretty. There was no need to put time and effort into making these for me though," you insist, trying to hand the bouquet back.

"Well I would have gotten you real flowers, but one, I don't know where I could find any, and two, they wouldn't have survived the trip here," he shakes his head, pushing the fake, yet amazingly crafted, flowers back towards you.

You lift them to your nose and sniff them for exaggeration.

He grins.

"They smell the part too."

"Don't lie, you goof, they smell like metal." You giggle, and-

Oh no, here come the emotions.

"Why-hic- are you doing all of this?" you ask, feeling hot tears run down your cheeks.

"Isn't it obvious, Rox?"

You shake your head.

"I love you," he says softly.

You blink, surprised.

"You… love me?" you repeat, making sure you aren't mishearing this.

"Yeah. I love you."

"I- love you too."

"C'mere," he whispers, as he embraces you in his arms.

You hiccup a few times in the midst of crying, and your makeup is probably all over your face, but he seems zero-percent bothered by it.

The two of you are still hugging when you feel a light peck on your cheek.

You peck back, and sit hugging for an amount of time that can't be counted.

I'd just like to point out that Roxy's mom never really had a relationship with her mom like Rose did with hers. Roxy was never close with her mom.

Also, Dirk lived in the future in an isolated house up until the game, and spent a lot of his time shut up in there.

I really like the idea (and the fact, the following is canon heh.) of them being each other's first human contact in their lives.

Also I love DirkRoxy, so yeah.

And one more thing.

I've done two one-shots including this one, and the reason for that is because I'm sort of at a writer's block.

Woops.
