Based on the song: No Rain By Blind Melon.

Disclaimers: I own nothing.

2D stared blankly out his bedroom window, watching rain tumble to the ground and form puddles in the street. This was life for the bluenette, when he wasn't performing or off at work, he was locked up in his room, staring out the window. It didn't sound sane at all, but 2D never really cared. Ever since he got off of Plastic Beach, he prefered to be alone. There was no point in getting close to the band again, they had been torn apart so many times. They always came back, though. Always. He just wanted someone to confirm it. Just tell him that they would always be there no matter what. For one night, he didn't want to lay awake crying, he wanted to feel okay again.

The only time he ever really felt peace was when he was asleep. Because of this, when there wasn't any rain to watch, the singer was usually curled up in bed, dreaming of a better day than this. He didn't understand why he was so sad. He came to the conclusion that the world was spinning to fast for him. He needed something to keep him tethered, or rather, someone.

"Toochi-san..." Noodle entered the bedroom, the man jumped as she spoke.

"Oh, hey, Noods." 2D smiled lightly toward the window.

"Toochi-san, what's been going on with you?" The twenty-two year old asked, closing the door behind her.

"Nothin'." 2D's gaze never left the glass separating him from the water droplets outside. Noodle stepped a little closer and sat on the bed next to the male. 2D scooted a little closer to the window frame, trying to distant himself from the girl.

He wasn't trying to avoid the girl, no, she had helped fill so many holes in his life, except one.

She filled the void of a best friend, a little sister, an enemy, even a mother at times, she would always be 2D's little luv. Hm, love, a topic the singer hadn't thought of much since the whole Paula incident. He hadn't had a girlfriend since then, but thanks to Noodle, he never really needed one.

She was his everything.

Everything.

That's what was making 2D so sad. During the band's break up, he was missing his everything.

"Toochi-san?" Noodle wrapped her arms around the boy and laid her head on his shoulder, "I missed you."

"I missed you, too...Luv..." 2D trailed off.

"Will you stay awhile? We haven't talked in a while."

"That's exactly why I came in here." Noodle smiled, letting go of the man so he could turn to face her. Though her appearance had changed a lot, her green eyes still lit up when she saw the bluenette.

2D finally sound his tether. When he'd wake up with Noodle still cuddled to his side like she always did before, he felt like he had it made.

And six months later, he found an even stronger tether.

There was nothing than marriage.

A/N: I loooooooooooove the song No Rain, and basically how this story ties in is all 2D's life is pretty plain, he likes watching the puddles gather rain, but it's not sane. He doesn't understand why he sleeps all day and complains when there was no rain, it's ripping his life away, but it's his great escape. He just wants someone to say to him they'll always be there when he wake, he wants to keep his cheeks dry today, and if Noodle stays with him, then he's really gonna have it made! Lol, yes, they did get married in the end, so *throws my hat in the air* Hope you liked it!
