A/N: I'd like to thank my absolutely amazing beta, Andromeda Luna who has stuck with me for an entire three months!
Disclaimer: Percy Jackson and the Olympians belong to Rick Riordan and the drawing of Nico in the cover image belongs to Viria.
He hates him. That boy with the green eyes. He promised to protect her and he didn't. He let her die. How could he do that? In those minutes it mattered most he had to fail. He had to let Nico's world crash down before his own eyes. And then he returned with that stupid god figurine. Like that'll make it better. Honestly, that boy can get away with murder (literally) with that stupid innocent smile. Yet Nico knows the truth behind that smile. And he desperately wants to wipe that stupid smile off his face, nobody who lets his sister die can just smile like that.
And all that time he spent with him. It was worth nothing. Nothing compared with the time he spent with his own perfect little girlfriend. And that's definitely why he hates him.
He hates her as well. That blonde girl. She's so proud. Too proud. Arrogant you could call her. Not that you would of course if you wanted to keep both arms intact. But everything has to be her way. He can't see how Percy could possibly like her. And that's why he hates her.
That's what he tells himself anyway. And he can tell himself whatever he wants. He can live in that make-believe world where he's not in love with that boy and he's not jealous of that girl. Maybe one day he'll face the truth, but until then, he's stuck in his own world of pretend.
And so in the end, he hates himself as well.
