One day…

Hoshitani was going to the outdoor stage in the rain when he spotted Otori dancing. Pausing, he sees beautiful black feathers as his Senpai dances, in awe, eyes widening. When the dance was over, Hoshitani quickly and silently runs away, Otori not noticing a thing.

In the bathroom…

Hoshitani's in a fetal position, a towel over his head, trying to make sense of what he just saw. A mix of emotions hit him, one after another.

At first, it's surprise that Otori-senpai is the one he's been searching for, then confusion as to why Otori-senpai didn't tell him. After he thinks about it for a bit, he feels ridiculous and embarrassed at the fact that he didn't figure it out until now.

But, after going through all those emotions, he feels… happy that he finally met his idol. Then, he realizes that it's more than admiration. He likes Otori-senpai as more than a friend, which makes him blush.

Sighing, he rubs himself dry, then heads to bed. He may, or may not, stay up late to figure out how to act in front of Otori-senpai tomorrow.

The next morning, at practice…

'Act normal. Act normal,' Hoshitani repeats to himself.

Otori notices something amiss with Hoshitani, like he's straining himself. "Hoshitani, something wrong? You feel…off."

Hoshitani shakes his head, smiling, "No, I'm fine!"

"OK. If you're sure," Otori says, trying not to push it, "But, you can always come to me if you have trouble, ne?" Otori puts his hand on his student's head to reassure him. Instead, Hoshitani blushes slightly at the contact, then pulls away, "A-alright Senpai. I-I should go now. See you tomorrow!" He runs away again.

Otori, with a confused expression on his face, wonders what that was about. Then, he thinks about how his kohai reacted, the blushing and stuttering. 'That was… adorable.' Snapping out of it, he shakes his head. 'Since when have I thought of Hoshitani as cute?'

Unfortunately for Otori, this continues for quite some time, his heart beating wildly at this new side of his kohai, Hoshitani's cute side.

After awhile, Hoshitani finally asks, albeit shyly, "W-will you go out with me for dinner tonight?" To which Otori smiles, "Yes." Hoshitani smiles, beaming up at him, Otori smiling back.

For Hoshitani and Otori, anything is possible, and the rest of this story is up to fate.
