A/N: Ok, this is short, just an attempt on my part to see if I could write an all-dialogue story. Um, you don't really need to know anything for this, except that H/H/R graduated a year earlier, and Ginny just graduated.

Disclaimer: I don't own anything, nor do I make a profit, and totally unworthwhile to sue.

Knock 'im Dead

"Um, Hermione?"

"Yeah?"

"When I said I wanted help getting ready, this wasn't exactly what I had in mind."

"What do you mean?"

"Uh, well, you see, I thought, you know . . . uh, that you would just give me some charms to try on my hair and face."

"But I did."

"That's true, you did. I just thought that they wouldn't be so, uh, extreme, is all."

"Look, Ginny, I can change it if you want."

"No, you don't have to do that. I like it, I really do, it's just that you don't think it's a bit, um, much? I mean, my brothers are going to be there-"

"You leave them to me."

"Thanks, Herm. It's not only that, though. You know who else is going to be there . . . "

"Harry, you mean?"

"Yes. Harry. Are you sure that I should look like . . . uh, I mean, it's just his birthday party-"

"Exactly!"

"Yes, well, ahem, right . . . . Just, are you sure that the blue's not a bit much?"

"No, the blue is fine. It's better than the green we tried. Better contrast with the rest of your hair."

"That's true. You know, if I just added blonde, I'd have all the primary colors."

"Look, you don't have to get all nasty about it. I can change it back, you know."

"No, it's ok. I trust your judgement. I've just never worn one of these . . . erm, what'd you call it again?"

"Micromini."

"Right. I've never worn one of these before, and it's just a tad uncomfortable. I mean, you can practically see my-"

"Don't worry about it Gin. It's supposed to be that short, to show off your legs. Besides, they can't see anything. That's what the fishnets are for."

"Oh. I just hope I don't fall over or something. That could be kind of bad."

"Well, there is that, but I don't think you will. You've been practicing walking around in those stilettos, haven't you?"

"Yeah, and I've gotten a whole lot more used to them. I'm almost as tall as you now!"

"Just as long as you're not as tall as Harry. Guys like to be taller."

"Well, you're not taller than he is, so I don't think that's going to be a problem. I just wish I could wear a bra or something with this top."

"You know you can't. Everyone would be able to see the strap in the back, and then your brothers would try and snap it on you. What kind of impression would that make on Harry?"

"Maybe it would clue him in."

"Oh, I think the rest of this get-up does that just fine."

"Yeah, you're right. I suppose if this doesn't get his attention, nothing will."

"A truer statement has never been said."

"It's just . . . what if he just laughs at me?"

"Ginny. There's nothing to worry about. This is Harry, right? Harry doesn't laugh at stuff like that. And I ought to know, I've been one of his best friends for eight years."

"Yeah, I know, but-"

"How long has it been since you last saw him?"

"A year. He came and stayed with us right before he moved to London."

"Ok. You'll be fine. Don't worry about it."

"You're right. I can do this. Ok, I'm ready. Let's go."

"That's the spirit. And Ginny?"

"Yeah?"

"Knock 'im dead!"
