You-Know-Who, Gone!

Last night, the Longbottom home was attacked by none other than You-Know-Who himself. He used the Cruciatus curs on the young couple, who are now in St. Mungo's. Their only son, Neville, has been taken in by Franklin Longbottom's mother, Augusta. The entire Wizarding community is in a puzzle between the loss of such great Aurors and the celebration of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's disappearance. The many that have indeed taken it upon themselves to celebrate have, according to the Ministry of Magic "taken things a tad too far". The Longbottoms' were a well respected family in the community. In fact, Frank and Alice..."

Death Eaters Attack!

Recently, several Death Eaters, Bartemius Crouch Jr. among them, were taken into custody on the accounts of using the Killing Curse on a young couple from Godric's Hollow. James Potter, age 21, along with wife Lily, also 21, were found dead in their home. Although the young toddler, Harry, has not been found, the Ministry is assuming him dead as well.

"After all," says one MoM employee. "S'not like an infant's gonna survive that."

Signs of a scuffle were found both on Mr. James Potter's body as well as his home, suggesting he was assaulted and possibly tortured before being swiftly, yet brutally murdered..."

Sirius Black, Convicted!

Last night, Sirius Black, age 21, was sentenced a lifetime to Azkaban for the murders of James and Lily Potter. Black gave up his old friend's hiding place to fellow Death Eaters and even helped to kill them. There is even the possibility that Black gave the Longbottoms over to You-Know-Who. After killing the Potters, Peter Pettigrew, also 21 and another friend of Black and Potter, confronted Black in a Muggle neigbourhood. Black blew up the street, killing Pettigrew and 12 Muggle bystanders. All that was found of Pettigrew was a finger.

"Always knew he was a nutter. Look at his family!" exclaims Muriel Prewett. Many agree on this statement and even go so far as to..."

Azkaban Convict Escapes!

Last night, Sirius Black, 29, escaped Azkaban prison, eluding Aurors and Dementors.

"Don't worry,"says Minister Cornelius Fudge." We'll catch Black soon."

Some worry that Black may try to go after Neville Longbottom, age 8, as Black could quite conceivably see the boy as a threat. Neville Longbottom is, as you know, the Boy-Who-Lived, the one who destroyed the Dark Lord almost eight years ago. Some think that Black believes by killing his Master's killer, the Dark Lord will come back.

"Of course not!" exclaimed Minister Fudge, huffing with indignation. "Don't be silly! He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is not going to just come back."

"I personally won't be letting my children out until he's locked up again." says one woman, when asked how she's dealing with the escaped convict.

Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts, as been seen at the Longbottom's house recently, though his intentions are currently unknown. Some speculate that Headmaster Dumbledore is having private lessons with the young boy to prepare him for when and if You-Know-Who should ever return."
