The boy was unsteady, his chubby little hands grasped about on all sides of him, as if somehow the air would provide him with adequate support should he lose balance. He stopped, lurched forward a bit, then stumbled and fell onto his hands.
Kali clapped and cheered softly, crawling on her hands and knees toward the giddy toddler.

Through a pained, but determined look, he hobbled in a way not unlike his sons uneasy steps. Every footfall was a battle. Just inches away from the small image of himself, he collapsed to his knees, and the tubes to which he had been connected snapped loose.
Father and son looked upon each other with a matched amount of curiosity. For a moment the two just stared.
And suddenly, seeming to dash the moment, an entire side of the elder demon's face sloughed off, falling unceremoniously before the toddler (who gawked almost comically).
A distraught mother Kali hurried the boy in another direction, calling for the pharmaceutical team frantically;
"He's falling apart again..!"
