Five Things Five People Thought Before They Went Through The Stargate

1. Camile Wray

She had read reports of course. She heard the stories. You don't work for the IOA without noticing some things, and she noticed that people tended to get hurt a lot going through the Stargate. Or they never came back alive.

She went anyway. She believed she could make a difference just being there.

Being stationed on the Icarus Base was tiring. No one ever got any rest. Then the attacks came. They all thought they were dead. She had been praying, hoping and pleading that this not be the day she die. Not without seeing Sharon again.

Then Eli suggested the maybe Earth may indeed be the point of origin and that it may act like a code to enable the ninth chevron to lock. All she heard in her mind was, 'I want to go home.'

As the planet shook all around her she thought, 'Please don't let this be the end.'

Then she got throw through the Stargate.

2. Eli Wallace

He knew he was smart. And no stubborn, old, cranky doctor was going to tell him otherwise.

He insisted his math was right. He was never wrong when it came to things like that. He was certain that Earth was the point of origin and if Dr. Rush didn't listen to him, he didn't know what he'd do.

Things got chaotic real quick. Ceilings falling, the planet slowly going nuclear all around them, and people running towards that blue, glowing light that spelled:

Safety.

He was shuffled along with the others, basically being herded into the Stargate. He closed his eyes as he stepped through, thinking, 'Dear God, I hope I was right.'

3. Alan Armstrong

He financed the entire thing. But that didn't matter to him when things went down shit creek rapidly.

He didn't care about all his wasted millions, billions even. He didn't give a damn about anything or anyone except his daughter.

Almost getting crushed by falling cement and then almost getting blown up, he was shocked that he even made it to see all his investment pay off. The Stargate was dialed. On the other side was something he couldn't even fathom.

Clinging to his daughter, he rubbed his hands up and down her arm in a comforting motion. 'I won't let my daughter die out there.' He thought as they pushed through.

4. Darren Becker

He was just as excited to find out he was going to another planet. Till he found out he was going to be a bus boy.

That put a damper on his mood just a tad.

But still! He was on another planet! Just looking out his window most days and knowing he saw completely different stars made him happy, almost to the point of giddiness.

When the bombs started falling, he (along with everyone else) made his way to the Gateroom. The first time it dialed that 9th chevron he could hear almost all of the scientists weep with joy. But that joy was short-lived.

That had to go now or be exploded into itty bitty particles. Not how he wanted to go out.

Lieutenant Scott said in counts of three. Or something like that. He was too jittered to hear anything properly. He would never dismiss his job serving food to people ever again.

Heading towards the gate that looked like a blue lake almost he started reciting of The Lord's Prayer in his mind.

'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven….'

5. Adam Brody

He wasn't the least bit surprised when things got as bad as they did.

He dutifully got in line behind the others, as they gathered their things and jumped blindly into the unknown.

When it was his turn he took a deep breath and ran towards the gate with one thought on his mind.

'I always knew I'd die in space.'
