One Night
Danny had fought Skulker and went to Sam's house to get his wounds cleaned.
When he got to Sam's room, he found her reading a book. "Hey," Danny said as he transformed into his human form.
"Hey," Sam replied as she stood up from her desk. Danny sat on her bed, and Sam walked towards him. Sam saw there was blood on Danny's shirt.
"Danny, what happened?" she said examining Danny's right arm.
"Skulker and I had a pretty bad fight," Danny explained. Sam went to her closet and took out a first aid kit.
"Ow," Danny said as Sam put rubbing alcohol on the wound, "it hurts."
"Danny, don't complain. You fight ghosts and their punches probably hurt more than this," Sam reminded him. They smiled at each other. They loved each other too, yet, neither of them would admit their feelings. "There," Sam said when she was done bandaging his arm.
"Thanks," Danny replied.
The first aid kit slid off the bed and onto the ground. They both bent down to get it. For what seemed to be a long moment, they looked at each other. Slowly, both of them stood up locking gazes and forgetting the box that was still on the ground. Danny's face was only an inch away from Sam's.
Suddenly with out thinking, Danny kissed Sam. She kissed him back, not wanting the kiss to stop. Sam ran her fingers through his messy black hair, while Danny's hands were on her waist, not wanting to let her go. Once the kiss stopped, they were both out of breath.
"Sam, I...I love you," Danny said, afraid of what her response could be.
"I love you too, Danny," Sam said and smiled.
He smiled back at her and then kissed her one more time. After the kiss was over, they were breathless again.
"Sorry," Danny said, "I couldn't help it."
Sam smiled, "Don't apologize, it's okay."
She traced his face with her hand and he closed his eyes, feeling her delicate touch. He sighed.
"Does your arm feel better?" Sam asked as Danny opened his eyes slowly.
"Yeah," he replied.
Nothing could break this perfect moment. Or at least they thought so. There was a knock on the door, both teens looked at the door and then at each other. Danny went invisible and Sam opened the door.
"Sam, it's late. Get some sleep," her grandmother said.
"Okay, I will," Sam assured her and closed the door.
From behind, Danny grabbed Sam by her waist and became visible again. Both of them smiling.
"You know, your grandma is right, it is getting late and you should go to sleep," Danny said, kissing her hair.
"Only if you stay until I fall asleep," Sam said, turning to face him.
"All right," he nodded.
Sam put her head on his shoulder. He hugged her closer to him. Once more he kissed her hair and whispered into her ear, "All of this makes you my girlfriend forever, right?"
She looked up at him and with a smile responded, "Yeah, forever."
They kissed one more time and went to sleep. They were both surprised of how many things could change...in just one night.
