The one thing she both despised and loved about him was that he made her feel comfortable.
She loved that she could waste a day in his arms, talking about nothing and everything, or even just listening to the birds chirping. She didn't have to be as smart as her mother or as brave as her father. He didn't have to prove he wasn't a maniacal Slytherin, like his grandfather and father before him. She could be Rose, and he could be Scorpius, and that was that.
She hated that she was bound to the same routine day after day. She'd leave for work at the same time each morning, and come home to the same man each evening; he'd pick up dinner from the same Muggle restaurant as usual, order the same meals, and wait for five minutes until she came home. It was as if she lived her life in a rut, never deviating from the path, always confined to the same routine. She went crazy just thinking of the dull life she led at the moment, the exact opposite of what she had always wanted.
She was going to go on adventures, and roam the great wide world with Albus. The two cousins were going to travel to every continent, stop at every landmark, and visit every city on their grand tour of the world. These plans were thwarted when Scorpius sat next to Albus and Rose on the Hogwarts Express their first year, simultaneously changing the history and future of Malfoys, Potters, and Weasleys.
Rose once loved Scorpius as much as one could love another, but she had dreams, and at the moment, the hope of adventure in other lands, or even getting food from a different restaurant, sounded more appealing than spending time with Scorpius ever could. That's why, as she prepared to apparate home after a day of work, Rose decided she was going to Paris. She was leaving her humdrum daily routine for good. As she apparated away, she realized that leaving her home meant leaving Scorpius behind, however, one sight of the Eiffel Tower reassured her. She was doing the right thing.
A/N: This is my first HP fic I've published, and I know it's not that great, but my Harry-Potter-Muse has struck, and I don't think it's going away anytime soon. Which is fine by me, quite honestly. :-D Thanks for reading! If you could review, that would be lovely, as constructive criticism is very much appreciated!
