Henry listened to the sound of her soft snores and watched as her eyelids fluttered slightly. He loved more than anything when she fell asleep beside him after a quiet evening in.

Earlier that New Year's Eve they watched the ball drop in Times Square on television and shared their resolutions. He made up a fake resolution to tell her: learn Spanish. He had not wanted to tell her his true resolution, in case he was unable to keep it. He did not want to break her heart twice.

He resolved to find a way to stay with her forever.
