Mkay, I edited this up a bit so it doesn't suck so bad. Enjoy the Taang, sisterly Katoph, and slight Kataang in it. Review and you receive a cookie.

Toph and Katara walked through the front door of the gang's apartment in Bai Sing Sei, Toph wiped her smeared make-up off with her sleeve while Katara closed the wooden door softly behind her.

"I'm going to sit down for a while," Toph said weakly as she turned to walk over to the green cushions in the back of the home.

"Alright, Toph. Are you sure you're okay?" Katara replied, gently putting a hand on the blind girl's shoulder.

"No, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" Toph grinned while giving Katara a large thumbs up

"Oh, okay," Katara sighed, letting her hand drop to her side.

Katara walked slowly over to Aang, who was on the floor playing with a small ball with Momo.

"Hey Katara, wow, you sure look pret-"

"Oh, hi Aang," Katara interrupted, she fiddled with her hands a little bit before saying, "Hey, could I ask you a favor?"

Aang airbended himself to a standing position, "Sure, anything Katara,"

Katara bit the bottom of her lip as she shot a quick glance at Toph, who was earth bending a small stone around in the air, "Could you go and talk to Toph? She, well. . . . "Katara paused," Well, she doesn't think she's pretty. Some girls in town were making fun of her. I talked to her, but sometimes girls need more than the assurance of other girls . . . What I'm asking is, well, tell her she's pretty."

Aang gulped, he sure didn't want to talk when she was in one of her bad moods, but if Katara wanted him to . . . "Ok, I'll talk to her,"

"Oh, thanks Aang! Toph will really appreciate it," she said.

"I hope she doesn't appreciate driving a rock through my skull. . ." Aang thought as he slowly nudged his way towards Toph.

He yawned, and rubbed his head before saying awkwardly, "So. . .uh. . .hey?"

" Hey, Twinkle Toes" Toph replied briskly.

"So, uh, how was the city?" Aang said, blushing nervously.

Toph blew the hair out of her eyes," It was ok, why?"

"Oh, no reason." Aang said quickly. There was an awkward silence as Toph picked at her toes before saying, "I can tell your nervous, Twinkles, so say what you need to or leave me alone," She turned her back to the air bender.

Aang felt a drop of sweat bead down his bald head, he gulped, then said, "Well, its just that, err, Katara told me what happened today, when you guys when out together,"

"Ah, that." Toph sighed, she rolled over to her side, "and I already told Katara that it was no big deal. It doesn't matter to me."

" Well, I just wanted to tell you that, um, those girls were wrong, and that, that," Aang gulped and pulled at his shirt collar, "You're beautiful," he quickly said before his courage deserted him completely.

Toph rolled her pastel green eyes, "Pfft, I bet Katara just told you to say that," Toph said glaringly, "You don't really think that," her voice cracked.

Aang put his hand on her shoulder, "No Toph. Well, she did talk to me, but I wouldn't lie to you. I think you're beautiful, Toph."

Toph could tell he wasn't lying, "Do you really mean that?" for once, a sparkling glint sprung into her pale eyes.

Aang grinned, "Of course I do. I couldn't, and wouldn't lie to you. You're one of my best friends."

Toph smiled, "Thanks Twinkle Toes," She pulled him into quick bear hug, before letting go, her pale skin turning pink.

Aang blushed," Well, Momo and I are going out to put some more Appa fliers out. Want to come?" Aang asked.

Toph instantly answered "Defiantly!"

Some points I need to make clear before I get chewed out:

1)This fic takes place immediately after "Tale of Toph and Katara"

2)Yes, I know they don't make the Appa fliers until Lake Loagi, but I just don't care that much.

3) Eh. . .I ship Taang.
