Over and over

Grissom sat in his office thinking about the past events. The kiss from Sara with Hodges as a witness, the goodbye letter. He stared at it and closed his eyes. He saw Sara.

I remember when you said goodbye

How you broke my heart

I still can't understand the reason why

And it's tearing me apart.

Several thoughts ran through his mind. Did he push her too hard? Was the marriage proposal too soon? Everything seemed to go so well in their lives and now this was happening. He tried to call her but the only answer he got was the answering machine.

Weeks went by, murder cases came and went. Routine was starting to get back in Grissom's life again. He didn't have much time left to think about her. Until…

I thought by now that I'd be over you

Guess I should have known

That now you're here with me I realise

I can't make it on my own.

The doorbell rang. Grissom opened and looked into a familiar pair of brown eyes. Without saying a word he took her hand and lead her inside. She gave him puppy eyes. Still in complete silence he pulled her into a sweet embrace. No words were needed at the moment. Only presence and the touch of each other. Grissom pulled a strand of hair out of her wet face, cupped her chin and planted a sweet gentle kiss on her moist lips. No word was needed. They understood each other just with one look in the eye.

We're starting all over and over

Over and over, starting all over again

And it's driving me crazy to think that I may be

Falling in love with you

All over again.

Even though Sara was back, life never seemed to return to the one before. Every time he tried to talk about the "why" of her leave, she locked him out of her world. She avoided him anywhere she could. She drove for hours before returning home. There he would be waiting and again words were left unspoken. Later that night, when she'd finally fallen asleep, his mind drifted off…

How can I be the man you want me to be

If you won't take my hand

Don't you know you're everything to me

And I'm trying to understand.

Understanding, something Grissom wanted to give her. But she didn't allow him into the unspoken part. He decided to let it go for a while and everything returned to normal.

We're starting all over and over

Over and over, starting all over again.

And it's driving me crazy to think that I may be

Falling in love with you

All over again.

One day he wondered if he would mention his marriage proposal again. To show her he really wouldn't let go of her, no matter what. But the doubts took over his mind again. Maybe that's what pushed her away back then. Maybe that's what scared her when left. Maybe that's what will cause her to back out again. All over again.

We're going round again

On a never ending wheel

It's time to stop pretending

Why can't you see you're so precious to me

Sara, we were meant to be!

He decided to take the risk of asking her again. He feared when he saw her face, but then from out of nowhere she pressed her lips against his. Only to let go of them again before getting out of air. He looked at her and for the first time since she returned, he saw a sincere smile on her face. Finally she's back. His Sara was back. They could pick up from where she had left.

We're starting all over and over

Over and over, starting all over again.

And it's driving me crazy to think that I may be

Falling in love with you

All over again.

The end.
