The Boy with the Green Eyes
A Percy Jackson Fanfic
The six-year-old sat under a tree. Her family was in the middle of a fight again.
Mrs. Morry's flower garden was her only place of refuge.
Nobody knew about her leaving, except Mrs. Morry.
The old woman sat down next to her.
"Such a beautiful young girl. Shame your mother didn't see you."
The girl sniffed, wiping away a tear.
"Come inside, I baked a cake for my grandson." Mrs. Morry enthused.
Annabeth perked up. "Grandson?"
"Oh yes, he's visiting for the summer. But his mother's not here though."
A buck-toothed boy grinned at her. He stuck out his hand. She noticed his shining green eyes and black hair.
"I'm Annabeth." she said shyly.
"My name's Percy."
Annabeth smiled and shook his hand.
Percy and Annabeth became the best of friends.
They were each others' only friends. But their happiness did not last for long.
"Goodbye." Percy said sadly as he picked up a bag.
Annabeth bit her lip. "Bye." she mumbled as he gave her a hug.
"Maybe we'll meet somewhere soon." he said hopefully.
But she knew that they will never see each other again.
She had found the safe haven she had been looking for.
But not the boy she had been looking for.
Annabeth stared wistfully at a photo of them, clinging to Mrs. Morry.
"Maybe we will meet someday soon."
She sat in a deck chair on the Big House.
She saw a figure at Thalia's tree. Two figures. She could make out a small guy dragging somebody.
She ran.
The boy collapsed at her feet. Grover, who must have been his protector, was unconcious.
His face was... familiar.
Then she noticed his eyes.
"He must be. He must be the one."
But she wasn't referring to the prophecy.
She was referring to the fact that she, Annabeth Chase, has suceeded in her silent quest to find the boy with the green eyes.
All night, she wondered.
How could he had forgotten her?
A dreadful mix of hurt, joy and doubt was making her sick.
Annabetn stared at his face.
He had grown now.
His face was split in a smile.
She cupped his cheeks and kissed him.
He looked shocked. And returned her feelings.
"Oh, Percy..." she whispered against his lips.
"Mm-hmm?"
"I love you."
He stroked her cheek. "I feel like a million bucks."
She sighed and threw her arms around his neck.
Was it good? Or crappy as my exam grades are? Let's hope I don't fail again, so you have no choice but to like it!
Mwahahahahaha! DIE YOU MORTAL SCUM!
