Introduction

Albus Dumbledore survived the Astronomy Tower incident and went into hiding. When Harry Potter defeated Voldemort, Dumbledore re-emerged to reclaim his post as Headmaster. Four years after the battle, in 2002, Dumbledore invited Harry and Ginny Potter to teach at Hogwarts. Both willingly agreed, and as should be expected, their first year teaching at Hogwarts was anything but normal. Dumbledore's old friend Nicholas Flamel had recently been reunited with his wife Perenelle and together with Sophie and Josh Newman, had fled to Scotland and seek refuge at Hogwarts. However Flamel has an ulterior motive. Dumbledore has the recipe for the Elixir of Life and is the only 'safe' person Flamel knows who can teach the twins the Magic of Earth.
