My Angel
You taught me how to love
And how to feel
You taught me that life wasn't just cold
And that fairytales are real.
You were my angel
My shinning light
You were my true love
Until you left that night.
You left for months, it seemed
I thought you were lost
But then one night
I thought of you.
I believed again and remembered
That angels are real.
Because I had one once and he
Slipped right through my heels.
I swear you heard my prayer
Because you came back to me
And you swore that you'd never leave
Not any distance, far or near.
You did however
But not for long
Because I know I'll see you again
Waiting for me, just beyond the clouds.
