Hoshiko walked through the forest, sword at the ready. The forest so far wasn't all that threatening, but as her father taught her, always be prepared for the worst in foreign lands. Especially when traveling the Southern continent.
Soon she came across a man standing by a clearing very still. She walked, sword still out, to the man dressed in all black.
"Sir, are you lost?" she asked looking at him. The cloak covered all features. Hoshiko wondered for a moment if he was even alive. Using the scythe in his hands, he planted it into the ground and got on one knee and said,
"Oh thank you oh merciful Nerull, for letting me complete this task I had failed so many years ago," he then stood up and started to approach her.
"Yes," he grabbed her chin forcefully, "the light brown hair, the hazel eyes. You are the bastard Heartnet," he murmured in his raspy voice.
"What are you talking about? I'm Hoshiko Suika Hitome. I come from a long line of Hitomes," she said, trying to release herself from his grip.
"Your mother was clever," he continued "She never once got involved in your life. Thinking Obad Hai must have some ridiculous plan up his sleeve for you. Instead of letting the god of death do his job," She could make out a sick grin from under the cloak. "Well looks like I'll be able to finish this job that has been untouched for 18 years," he let her go. He put his scythe up and ready to fight. He swung it at her, she tried time after time to try to parry his hits or land a blow, but to no avail.
She lay on the ground, gasping for air. This was the end. He brought the scythe up for the killing blow. Just as she blacked out she saw plants grow up from under him and tangle him in a mess of vines and leaves.
