The way her long auburn hair framed her creamy heart-shaped face, gave the impression that she just might be an angel. When she sighed her full rosy lips parted, making them look completely kissable.
Those lips would feel so soft against my own lips, seventeen-year-old Severus Snape thought as he watched Lily study from across the library.
It was then that Lily Evans looked up from her book to see him staring at her. Severus didn't look away, and instead, he gave her a small smile... very small. Lily lifted a brow and pursed her lips.
"Hi." he mouthed to her.
"Hi." she replied.
"How are you?"
Lily shrugged slightly. "I'm alright." she mouthed.
"That's good." Severus nodded.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the library doors open and James Potter walked in. The Head Boy didn't spare a glance at Severus as he made his way over to Lily, placing a kiss upon her lips. Severus looked away and began packing away his things. When everything was put into his bag, Severus stood up and made his way toward the library doors. He looked back to see James copying notes from Lily who was paying no attention to her boyfriend and instead was looking at Severus. Even in their distance, Severus could see her lips forming the words, "I forgive you."
Severus didn't say or do anything... only staring at the girl he would forever love. He nodded once to her, then turned around and walked out of the library, knowing in his heart that that was the last conversation he and Lily would ever have again.
