Beauty

by: writewithpurpose

She hides her beauty

Covering it with make-up

Ruining all the imperfect perfection that lies on her face.

She covers her flaws

Thinking they will never be seen

But in the end when the make-up must come off

What does she see?

Ugliness seeping through with each wipe.

Her flaws taking over her face once again.

Unhidden and exposed.

Manipulated and hypnotized by the media

She goes to bed at night

Wishing to look like something else

Because the media makes her think

That her reflection is such a fright.
