A cry for help
Jane was working alone in the newsroom on Halloween when her BlackBerry flashed an urgent message- HELP
ME!- "This must be a joke," Jane thought. "Someone is trying to scare me." But she decided to reply and typed " Who are you? What can I do to help?" The response sent a chill down her spine ……
" My name is Jane; Jane McCauly, I work in the newsroom at 625 Dregon Road. Please help me. Someone has broken into the newsroom please help me!"
Now normally this wouldn't bother Jane but this message creeped her out for a number of reasons. For one thing, Jane McCauley was her name and for a more horrible reason, 625 Dregon Road was the location of her newsroom. Nervously she got up and trying not to make a sound picked up one of her many #1 newspaper awards , and slowly moved down to the first floor straining to hear of any noises. With great relief no one was there. With a great breath of relief she slowly started up the stairs but suddenly she heard her BlackBerry. As she picked up her BlackBerry there in black lettering read "The burglars are on the second floor!!!"
As Jane read this her heart skipped not one but 3 heart beats because the second floor was where she was working just minutes before. Again she picked up the award and crepted upstairs, but again there was nobody there.
Hesitantly she went back to work and all was well for 10, 15, 20, and soon 30 minutes. Jane was just about to go home when something caught her eye. Someone had left an open file on her desk. Jane looked through the file and with terror on her face dropped the file and ran out of the building, because there written in black and white was a news article that read:
Jane McCauly, 25, was brutally murdered in her office late Wednesday night when
a group of robbers broke into the
Newsworks Building at 625 Dregon Road
