"Hey." I said shyly as I walked up to her. I'd never seen her before in my life, but she somehow seemed familiar. Like she was a kindred spirit from another life or something.

I had found a pretty flower on the ground, and when I showed my mum, she told me to give it to the prettiest girl I knew. I didn't know the girl, but I knew that she was beautiful.

"Ohaiya!" she said and waved. "Who are you?" she asked.

"I'm..." what was my name again? "D... daa... Danny!" I said and smiled.

She laughed.

"You're funny! "She said to me and took my hand. "Let's be friends!"

I just smiled, and I felt the flower drop from my hands.

*fast forward some amount of years till they're both 17*

We were walking down the streets of Amity Park, hand in hand. Well, I was trying to walk; she was pulling me behind her. I still felt like I did when I first met her, oh so many years ago.

"So, Danny." She said as she pulled me and herself onto a park bench. I automatically brought one of my arms around her shoulder. She snuggled into my shoulder, and I closed my eyes. I could stay here forever, oh so easily.

"Yes?" I said, remembering that she had spoken to me.

"I've been thinking. Why did you come and say hi to me all those years ago?"

I looked down, remembering the flower.

Ironically, clinging to the side of the chair was a flower just like the one I had picked when I had first met her.

I reached down and pulled it out without any difficulty. I sat up again and brought it to her attention.

"I picked a flower for you." I said and smiled. I hadn't been able to say it the first time. But this time, we knew each other better, and I was much more confident.

She blushed. "It's so beautiful. But that doesn't explain why you came and say hi."

I shrugged.

"It kinda does. It was this exact same type of flower that my mum told me to give to the prettiest girl I knew. But I didn't know you, so I couldn't give it to you. So I came and said hi, so I could." I said and smiled. It was a goofy grin, and she started giggling. "Here." I said, extending the flower for her. "I'm a bit late though."

Instead of taking the flower, however, she took my face in her hands and pressed my lips to hers.

And for the second time in my life, the flower dropped from my hands onto the ground again.
