The morning sun flooded into the kitchen.

A drop of sweat made its way down her neck, disappearing between the curves of her chest.

She gasped, her lungs screaming for oxygen. Her Heart pounding, racing to keep up with what her body needed. Slightly dehydrated she filled a large glass of water.

Panting. It burned , in her lungs, her muscles, her whole body.

She crossed the line, again.

She pushed herself to do the extra miles, at a pace higher then what her body could handle. It was going to hurt, her muscles were going to be stiff and sore. She knew that. This wasn't healthy anymore, she knew that to. After all she is a doctor.

Her hart started to slow down, and a smile graced her beautiful face. It did help, she stopped thinking, longing. The endorphins kicking in, that was what she needed, what she had to have, to get through the day.

If she was to keep this up. Loving her so much and just being friends, not touching, not craving her.
Already blessed and thankful to spend so much time together, she had to stop her whole body from screaming that she wanted more. And more was never going to be possible.
So she had to run, run it out of her body. Run to get the chemical boost she needed.

The sound of door being unlocked got her out of her thoughts.

"Hey Maur, you in the kitchen? I brought coffee and bagels."

Jane rounded the corner to step into the kitchen. She stopped, taking in the sight of her best friend.

There Maura was beautiful as ever. A pink tone on her flawless skin, bright hazel eyes, meeting hers. Leaning on the kitchen island, all sweaty, her tank sticking to every curve of her body. As the morning sun made her damp golden hair sparkle.
Her chest still rising and falling from what definitely was an exhausting run. She had obviously pushed herself again. Pushed to hard again.

"What the hell, Maura!" Almost Yelling, Jane had a hard time, seeing her the woman she secretly loved so much, pushing herself so hard.

"You know people run to get in shape, not kill themselves! It's like you're doing penances."

She calmed down instantly as she saw the tears threatening in the hazel eyes staring back.

"Are you ok?" Jane said softly, obviously worried . A hint of a smile appeared of Maura's lips

"I am Jane", she stated.

Followed by a whisper, not meant to be heard : "I am Now"
