Alice was bored one Sunday morning. As most people know, when Alice is bored on Sunday mornings, it can't be good. She, being Alice, decided to have a Halloween party. Everyone was excited…except Bella, of course.
EBPOV
"Bella, human experiences."
"I am not dressing up."
"But we'd match. Its romantic."
"How is you being a disgusting pirate and me being your wench romantic?"
"It just is." He suppressed his laughter and held the costume out for her. Bella reluctantly took the costume and left in a huff.
Alice came skipping down the stairs, dressed as a pixie. She had a glittering green dress and spiked her hair more than usual. "Edward, you make such a good pirate! But where's your shoulder buddy?"
"What the hell is that?"
"Aw, come on Eddie! You know, the pirate captains always have shoulder buddies. Barbossa had the monkey, Davy Jones with his kraken. Even that guy from Peter Pan...didn't he have a parrot? I don't know. But you need a shoulder buddy."
"How is the kraken a shoulder buddy? It doesn't live on his shoulder."
"I don't know, Edward. Maybe it shrinks into a little snake, sits on his shoulder, and doesn't get big until he summons it," Emmett said in all seriousness.
Jasper appeared seemingly out of nowhere. "Somebody's watched that movie a few too many times."
"Actually, no. I haven't been watching anything since Edward broke my TV!"
"When are you going to let that go?"
"When the new TV comes."
"I am not buying you a new TV..."
"Too late. I bought one on EBay this morning."
PARTY
"Oh no," Bella said. The entire Cullen house had been decked out for Halloween. Spider webs hung from the ceiling besides dangling skeletons, and orange and black lights were the only thing that illuminated the dark room.
Edward laughed and adjusted the eye patch over his golden eye. "Come on, this is fun."
Bella rolled her eyes. "No,"
"Come on," Edward said. He pulled her beside him and headed towards the refreshment table.
"Don't try the cookies," Edward whispered in her ear. "This was Alice's first time cooking in years,"
"I heard that!" Alice said, skipping over beside Edward. She playfully knocked him in the back. Something squeaked and fell to the floor. Bella looked down to see a stuffed parrot on the ground.
"YOU KNOCKED OVER MY SHOULDER BUDDY!" Edward said.
"You. Have. A. Shoulder buddy?" Jasper said between fits of laughter, appearing out of nowhere.
"Hey, hey ,hey, Jazzy….where's your matching hat?" Alice asked. Jasper looked at her incredulously.
"It made me look funny."
"But I wanted you to wear it…" Alice whined, and looked up at Jasper in a heartbreaking expression.
"I…" Jasper said.
"If you don't wear it, I won't kiss you," Alice said, and skipped off.
"Hey, NO! Alice!" Jasper went to follow her, but Alice was nowhere to be found.
"I guess I'll get the hat," He muttered.
