The Island Of Doctor Mobius!
Prologue
Machines laid dormant within the grey walls of a factory. The moon's light only barely making things visible from cracked mold covered windows. Sand blew around the stone floors as the wind every so often found its way inside. Landing on just about every thing, including a screen seemingly broken beyond all repair.
All was as it should be, until the screen turned on. Illuminating the factory's floor and machines in a dim blue light.
"Mobius!"
Speakers let out this name well life came back to this factory. Along with a multitude blue eyes appearing randomly from it's dark corners.
"Mobius!"
The speakers were on repeat but by now were drown out by the deafening sound of industrial labor. Conveyor belts moved scraps of metal into man made contraptions. Disappearing behind rubber flaps well those blue eyes began to multiply.
Low to the ground, they crawled out from the darkness. Large bodies of metal marked in yellow and red paint with short legs and a single bent appendage at its back. Metal claws were attached to them just in front of their four blue bug like eyes.
"Mobius!"
The speakers let out one last time before the doors of this factory blew open. Falling to the earth as the metal bugs marched on under the shattered full moon above. Going towards a destination not yet known to man. Just barley, over the sound of their march, could howling be heard in the distance.
"Mobius!"

Ruby Rose looked through Beacon's mission board. Wishing to find the perfect job for her and Team RWBY before the Vytal Festival became their main priority. One last achievement to prepare them for the tournament ahead.
After a few minutes of searching, she finally found one perfect for them. An island not far off from Vale that was thought to be uninhabited has been showing brief but noticeable signs of life through a message that repeated one name, 'Mobius'. The Kingdom of Vale wants a team of Huntsman to check it out.
It may not be an epic adventure Ruby dreamed to have but it would do. An easy recon mission that probably involved killing Grimm would be perfect for getting her team ready for the Vytal Festival. So she grabbed it and turned it in to be accepted. Afterwards, Ruby ran to find her team to have them prepare for their mission tomorrow morning.
Izzycity12: Yes this is short but, in my defense, it's a prologue not a full chapter.
So, for those who are wondering, this idea came about one night after playing through RWBY Grimm Eclipse. Were after I finished the main game I asked myself 'how can I make this go towards the next extreme?'. My answer for this came in the form of Fallout New Vegas's DLC 'Old World Blues'. This alone should explain enough of what this story entails.
But in all likely hood there will be a large gape between updates because this only came about through one fun filled night of writing. To combat this, if anyone wants to take this idea and have fun with it. Go right ahead because I don't care. I'm still working on other stuff right now and all this story is stuff I wanted to put out there for all to enjoy. So have fun.
