She washed her hands and looked in the mirror. She smiled. Who cared if they could never get the armbands off, really? She had never felt this good. Never felt this alive. With a self-indulgent flick of her hair, she turned to leave.

She ran straight into Colonel O'Neill.

"Woaw," she said, rebounding. "What are you doing in here?" she said, taking a look around to make sure there were no other women in the bathroom.

"Nothing," he said, calculatingly. Sam looked around her, uncomfortably. Did he always look at her this way?

"This is the Ladies' Room, sir," she said.

"Yup," he said. His gaze never left her face.

"You're a man," she said, obviously.

"Glad you noticed," Jack growled and took a step closer.

With a fleeting jolt of realization, Sam turned back around to the basin. She had to occupy herself with something. She turned on the tap. A pair of hands from behind her turned it back off, his hands firmly, but gently upon her own. She looked into the mirror and saw the mischievous face of her C.O behind her.

"It's like Danny said," he rumbled. "We'll be back before anyone even notices we're gone." Sam shuddered at the feel of his breath upon her neck. She closed her eyes for a second.

"I don't think that's the point, sir," she said, between shallow breaths.

"There needs to be a point?" Jack asked, and brushed his face against her neck.

Sam moaned involuntarily at the scratch of his stubble against her neck. She let her mouth open slightly and tilted her head back so that it was resting on his cheek.

"No," she finally said, coming back to her senses for a brief moment. "This isn't right."

Jack didn't stop.

"It's just the adrenaline, sir. Normally you wouldn't…we wouldn't…" she fought off the overwhelming urge to lean into him and beg for more. "The adrenaline in our systems is increasing the...it's increasing our urges. Like the protein cravings."

"This isn't like steak, Carter," Jack dismissed.

"Mmm," she agreed. "Better."

Jack laughed, deeply in his throat.

"But…it's not us, sir," she continued hopelessly. "The adrenaline is clouding our judgment, making us more susceptible to…"

"Carter?"

She turned to face him.

"Shut up."

She looked straight into his eyes. They were invincible, after all.

"Yes sir," she purred and pulled his face down to hers.
