Arthur tried to smile but failed miserably. He was holding Merlin in his lap. They were on their own little world, not seeing the battlefield around them.

"Why you came here Merlin?"

"Why you think that you can keep me away when you need me most?" Merlin asked, his hand wiped the blood away at Arthur's face.

"You shouldn't come here. Now I'm going to lose you."

"You never lose me my king. Remember what I said once. "

"I never think that… I never…" Arthur voice broke. His tears dropped in Merlin's face. Merlin's hand bulled Arthur's head nearer.

"Listen. Everything is all right. Even without me, you have Gwen. Remember, whatever is going to happen, believe her, she is your heart."

Arthur shook his head at agony.

"You are my soul Merlin. Without you I can't just go forward."

"You have to. My destiny was guide and helps you to restore the magic in this land and create one whole Albion. That is now done. And this was my last job to do. Protect you that you can rule your realm, that you can see your children growing, hold your grandchildren in your arms. " Merlin voice was quiet now, his hand slipped on his side.

"Don't leave me here." Arthur begged. "Don't leave me alone."

"You… are never alone… Arthur. I'm your… soul. I'm always… here." Merlin whispered. "We… are the same.. same… " Merlin's voice died away. Arthur felt how his body finally relaxed.

"Merlin?"

The eyes stared through him. There was no light anymore. Arthur's roar, full of anguish, echoed over the bloody field.
