He didn't want to be in love with Volkner. He was an electric type trainer. And electric types made Falkner mad.
But you know, when you're confronted with the awesomeness that is Volkner and his shockingly intense blonde hair and strikingly beautiful blue eyes, one can't really help but falling in love. Life just isn't fair.
"What're you thinking about, Falky?" Volkner reached his hand up to straighten up one of his many hair spikes.
"I hate it when you call me that," Falkner growled.
"You didn't say that last night," Volkner smirked.
Falkner turned as red as Hoothoot's eyes. "I really hate you."
"I love you too, Falky baby."
Falky got up and looked out the window. Rain was still falling pretty hard outside. "Gah, I wish I could leave. I miss my own gym. Yours has too many electric types for my taste."
"Aww, is my little Falky scared of my Pokémon?"
"I'm not scared; I just don't like that they have an advantage over mine."
"See? Even the Pokémon universe knows that I should be the dominant one in the relationship."
Falkner rolled his eyes. "You can't seriously be this retarded, can you?"
Volkner just chuckled and stuck out to run his hand through his lover's hair.
Falkner winced at the contact and shouted, "Don't ever touch my hair! I've told you a thousand times never to touch it!"
"Oh, so it's okay for me to grab your hair while you're sucking me off, but when I just want to run my hands through it in a comforting fashion, that's not okay? You don't make any sense."
"I don't have to make sense."
"Will you stop being so freaking stubborn? I hate when you get like this. I like the sweet Falkner. Not this one who has his man period at least twice every week. It's not like we get to see each other very often, with you living in Johto and me being in Sinnoh. This long-distance thing between us isn't going to work if this doesn't stop."
Falkner just stared at Volkner, speechless.
"And…I want this to work," Volkner sniffled.
Falkner just kept staring.
"I don't think I could live without you. Not after all that we've been through."
Falkner's face lost emotion.
"I…really love you Falkner."
Falkner lost his knowledge of how to breathe. Did…did Volkner really just say that? He loved him back? Falkner truly thought that his feelings were unreciprocated. This whole thing between him and Volkner originally just started as friends with benefits type deal. But somewhere along the way, Falkner had given up trying to keep himself from loving the gorgeous blond. And now, Volkner apparently felt the same way.
"D-do you r-really mean that?"
Volkner nodded.
"But I thought you wanted to keep this thing casual?"
"I couldn't help it, Falky. You're vehemently stubborn, you act like a girl when it comes to your hair, which is very annoying, you act emo all the time, and gosh, you raise flying type Pokemon for crying out loud."
Falkner interjected, "Ummm, no offense, but is there a point to this? You're not exactly making me feel better right now…"
"Sorry. The point is that, besides all of your flaws, I love you just the same. And…and I think I always will."
"I…I love you too," Falkner choked out.
"Oh thank goodness," Volkner fake swooned. "I was about to pull a Falkner and have a girlish freak out if you didn't feel the same," Volkner winked at the flying type trainer.
"You're an arrogant jackass," Falkner smiled for the first time in a long while.
A/N: Okay, I don't really know what happened here. My two friends and I decided that we'd pick a Pokémon pairing, write for half an hour, and see what we came up with. And yeah, this just kinda came outta nowhere. And if you've seen the animé
episode with Falkner in it, you should understand the funny with Falkner being mad about electric types. ;-) Hope you all enjoyed this!
