This is just a one-shot based off of a story called One Shot A Day by Myra109. It is really good, you should go check it out along with her other stories.

Leo pulled himself up onto the railing of the Argo II. He couldn't elp but think of a conversation he had with his mother when he was about 5.

"Mama, what happens when you die?", Little Leo had asked.

The young Esperenza Valdez smiled. "Leo, my little lion you will go to heaven. If you are good while you live, God will invite you to a special place called Elysium"A long time ago, while Esperenza was pregnant, Hephaestus had visited her to explain the Greek gods.

"What if you are bad?" he asked, lip trembling. "Where do you go then?"

"Leo I promise you will go to Elysium, okay? Don't worry about it."

Leo seemed placated by this response. "Night Mama." As he reached up to hug her he whispered, "You'll go to Elysium too. I promise".

Esperenza smiled. "Te amo my little lion."

But Leo was already asleep.

Present day Leo contemplated jumping. He didn't hear Percy coming. "Thinking of jumping?". Leo yelped and nearly fell off of his precarious perch of the railing. Brown eyes turned to meet sea-green orbs filled with worry. "Come on" he said gently, leading him off. He offered him a Coke. "Want one?".

"Nah, I'm good".

Percy plopped down with his coke. "You know, I tried once too."

"You did?"

"Tried to drown myself. Didn't work no matter how hard I tried. I stopped right before I passed out. My stepfather was beating me and I stopped myself from killing myself because my mom needed me."

Leo was stunned. "Some of my foster parents beat me too, but that's not the point. Why are you telling me this, and does Annabeth know that you tried?"

"No, Annabeth doesn't know and I'm telling you this because you tried because you think you are unimportant."

"Cause it's true. You saved Olympus, and pretty much have done everything, and lived to tell the story. I, on the other hand killed the only person who actually cared about me. You didn't hear her screams as she was burned alive. I can't help but hear them every time I close my eyes."

"No I didn't, but Piper and Jason love you as a little brother. Annabeth can't help but admire your survival skills because she knows you survived alone for 7 years because you were on the run and she admires your intelligence. Hazel loves you as a little brother, and Frank acts like he doesn't care, but he cares. Okay, I care! Don't kill yourself, you're needed. Promise. If I'm wrong, which I'm not, you can finish this after the war."

"Promise, you'll let me if I prove you wrong after the war?"

"Yes."

"Now lets go before someone starts to wonder where we are."

The two got up and went in seperate directions. Leo toward the engine room and Percy to his bedroom. Neither of them noticed the pale, tear streaked face with blue, peircing eyes in the corner. He had never known about Percy or Leo's past. Never again, Jason vowed.
