Another Ending for Buffy

The ending of Buffy was left open. So we filled it. Here's another scene that could've happened after the finale.

Another Ending For Buffy

Scene: Bus, Road, Desert, Daytime

Voice over: "What do we do now?"

Buffy:   "Spike"       

Giles:    "Uh, yes…..Buffy.  We heard you the first time – Spike saved the world. You…were right about him….(stammers slightly) and I was wrong."

Buffy:   "No….I mean, yes, but he's alive." (wonderingly) "He's ALIVE."

Xander: "What…? In that?" (gestures toward the cavernous crater) "No way."

Buffy: (to Xander, authoritively) "Come with me!"

Scene: next to crater. A naked as a jaybird Spike is curled up in a fetal position. Buffy approaches, leans down, looks in his face.

Buffy: "Spike."

Spike: "Buffy. I was in heaven. They said….They said to go back and finish my life. My

            human life! They re-embodied me." (Then he looks & sees he's naked) "They

            didn't re-clothe me though." 

Xander: "Uh….Spike…..you looking to get an all-over tan?"

Spike: (looking at Xander) "If I feel like it." (Looks up at the sky) To Buffy: "It's a good

            day."

Buffy: "Yes, it is."

Xander: "Here, Spike" (handing him a torn and dirty blanket) "All I can find."

Spike stands, with help from Buffy, takes blanket distastefully, wraps it around his middle as Scoobies run up.

Willow: "Spike! You're in the sunlight! And you're not all smokie and burning"

Spike: "Yep seems I'm all ordinary human mortal man now."

Buffy: (to herself) "Ordinary, yeah right, that'll never happen."

Spike: (squinting up at sunlight) "I could use some cool shades though." (looking down at blanket covered self) "Let's go shopping."
